Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month at 3CAM

During the month of May, 3CAM will showcase various exhibitions and projects celebrating Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and their contributions to the enrichment of American society as a whole.

In October of 1978, President Jimmy Carter first proclaimed what was Pacific/Asian-American Heritage Week with the passing of House Joint Resolution 1007. It consisted of the first ten days in May. President George H.W. Bush subsequently signed a bill passed by Congress in 1990 that extended Asian-American Heritage Week into a month-long event, officially being designated Asian-Pacific Heritage Month in 1992.
